50th Event Details
Please start preparing now to celebrate 50 years since our high school graduation. Your Reunion Planning Committee (Posse) composed of Sherry Brooks Williams, Ed & Ann Gainer Caskey, Julia Cauthen Henry, Nancy Evatt, Gene & Jeannie Pittman Flack, Pat Johnson Harper, Betsy McConnell Rushing, Judy Shehane Summer, Beth Sowell Baker, Mike Vick, and Buck & Linda Carnes McCants has been hard at work and has finalized plans for four great events for us. We certainly hope you will attend as many events as possible.
Please consider the following as you decide in the coming months whether to attend:
- The 50th is special, and we’re not getting any younger. Only God knows what is in store for each of us.
- All four events have been carefully planned and organized to make sure each one is as affordable as we can make it. We will use all the $1016 in the 50th Reunion “kitty”, plus conduct a couple of fun raffles to insure the prices are kept as low as possible.
- The golf tournament will feature both super prizes (good stuff), and “not-so-good-but-funny-stuff”.
- The Friday night Icebreaker will be held at the same great venue as our 45th, with enough heavy hors d’oeuvres to satisfy even the biggest eater.
- The Saturday morning Brunch is a great value with a super menu at a very convenient, indoor, location with plenty of time to visit with classmates.
- Saturday night Dinner will be at a very special place, at a special price just for the Class of ’64, complete with entertainment tailored to help you treasure the guests of honor-YOU

I know some of you have requested a repeat of the 45th, but Carolina Lakes simply could not accommodate the large number that we expect for dinner, and the larger Doubletree facility is first-class in all respects. We felt that being indoors for the brunch was far preferable to risking being in the rain at Andrew Jackson State Park for the same type of picnic that we had in 2009. We think you’ll be pleased with the changed venues.
