Jesse Clyde Harris, III

September 25, 1943 – October 17, 2009

 

Jesse Clyde Harris, III, 66, of Lancaster, died Saturday October 17, 2009 at Springs Memorial Hospital.

Born September 25, 1943, he was the grandson of the late Dr. Jesse C. Harris and son of the late Alease Hull Harris and the late Jesse Jake Harris, II.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Doyle.

A lifelong resident of South Carolina in the Lancaster area, Mr. Harris was educated in local schools, graduated from Lancaster High School, and attended the University of Virginia. Mr. Harris was self employed in a real estate rental company.  Over the course of his life, he enjoyed friends and events at the Lancaster Moose Lodge, and he was a part of several social groups.  He enjoyed music, particularly opera, as well as more formal music.  He was a private pilot and enjoyed salt water fishing.

Survivors include his son, Jesse C. Harris, IV, and his friends: Alex, Jackie, Crawford, Pete Lynn, and Pat, and many others.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a future date.

The family requests that Memorial Gifts  be donated to GoldenCare Non Profit Adult Day Health Services and In Home Personal Care, 403 W. Meeting Street, Lancaster, SC 29720 in memory of Mr. Harris.
