In Memoriam

Loyd Nolan Broach     

 November 2, 1942 – March 7, 2010

 

Loyd Nolan Broach, 67, of Lancaster, died Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Springs Memorial Hospital.

Born November 2, 1942 in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Herman Lee Broach and the late Willie Mae Ghant Broach.  Mr. Broach was a member of Covenant Baptist Church and was retired from Spring Industries.  Mr. Broach was known by many for his activities with the Lancaster Recreation Department, which included coaching T-Ball, Dixie Youth Baseball, Soccer, and serving as an umpire.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Broach and Tommy Broach.

Survivors include his wife, Laraine Broach of Lancaster;  son, Jamey L. Broach and his wife MiKyong of El Paso, Texas; daughter, Stacie Broach Hensley of Lancaster; brother, Marion “Sonny” Sims Broach of Clover; grandchildren, Samuel Broach and Katie Hensley, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 2 pm March 11 at Covenant Baptist Church with The Reverend Dr. Bert Welch officiating. The family will receive friends at the church, following the service.

The family suggests that those who wish may make donations to the Covenant Baptist Church  Building Fund, P.O. Box 578, Lancaster, SC 29721. the American Cancer Society, 339 Main Street, Camden, SC 29020. or the American Lung Association, 1817 Gadsden Street, Columbia, SC 29201, in memory of  Mr. Broach.
