Tony Ray Mobley

Tony Ray Mobley, 69, of Lancaster, died Sept. 11, 2014. He was the son of the late E.J. And Sallie Harper Mobley.

Tony graduated from Lancaster High School in 1964. He was employed for a number of years by the Slaughter Machine Company of Lancaster and later worked for Atlas Material Testing Technology, LLC, from where he retired in 2002.

He served in the S.C. National Guard for 24 years. He was a founding member of Elgin Fire Department. He was a member of Antioch Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. Tony enjoyed many outdoor activities, including boating on Lake Wateree, camping and horseback riding.

Tony is survived by his wife of 49 years, Beverly Baker Mobley; a son, Eric Lewis Mobley and his children, Josie Rae Mobley and Seth Garrett Mobley; a daughter, Katherine Rae (Kate) Mobley Beacham, her husband, Mike Beacham, and their children, Mikalea and Emiley Beacham. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary M. Harper and her husband, Ned, and Edith Harper and her husband, William.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, James R. (Jimmy) Mobley and his wife, Nancy Mobley.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 7, at Baker Conference Center, 105 N. Minor St., Kershaw. Graveside services are 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at St. Luke UMC Cemetery with Military Honors.
