Hobbies/Interests: Boating, gardening, traveling. We live on the coast of NC on Bogue Sound in the summer and spend the winter half of the year on a tiny island on the Gulf Coast of Florida called Matlacha, just off Ft. Myers/Cape Coral area. We love the flora and fauna, and birdwatch off our dock.

Published a Book? (Name): No, but I have published a number of NC HOMES and tourism magazines, relocation guides, community news and city guides, bridal and waterfront lifestyle guides.

Favorite Books/Authors: Last read was the Kite Runner.

Favorite Songs/Musicians: Still love the Eagles, Alabama, Josh Groban, Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Fleetwood Mac, Lyle Lovette, Bonnie Rait, Oscar Peterson, Maryanne McPartland.

Favorite Movies: The English Patient, Planet Earth series, anything with Jack Nicholson.

Best Vacation Ever: Railroad trip through Mexico’s Copper Canyon

Favorite Memory of High School:  My friends from all walks of life. Graduation; I was ready to spread my wings.

Proudest Moments of My Life: I would need to write a book, but being able to retire early is the last one so far.

Things I Would Like My Classmates to Know: After university graduation, I taught two grades at an International School in Hokkaido, Japan, home of the Ice Festival; almost froze to death. I love train trips and have traveled in Canada, Nova Scotia, and east to west coasts and north to south in the US; in Russia and northern Europe; and throughout Japan.  I have also lived onboard sailboats for a number of years, living on the Chesapeake Bay and cruising from Cape May as far south as the Tortugas and Bahamas/Exumas.
