Name/ Email address: Nancye Caskey Hammond/ jehamm at comporium dot net

Marital Status/ Spouse's Name: Married for 47 years/Jack Hammond

Children/Grandchildren: We were never blessed with children of our own, so never knew the joy of grandchildren either, but our lives have been blessed by the love of many nephews and neices and young people in all our walk through life.

Favorite Memory of High School: Friends that we made.

Things I Would Like My Classmates to Know (College, military, occupation, etc.): I attended Limestone College for two years. Jack and I had dated through high school and he entered the Air Force when he graduated in 1961, so when he asked me to marry him, I stopped school and we were married in 1964; he likes to say that he took me on a year-long honeymoon to Panama City, Florida (where he was stationed at the time). I was very homesick, but I will always believe it built a strong foundation for our marriage. In August of this year we will celebrate our 48th anniversary and every day I love him more and thank God for him. We have worked in our church ( Grace Methodist) in many capacities. Jack taught Mechanical Drawing at the Vocational School in Lancaster and retired after 30 years. I retired from Founder's Federal Credit Union in March of 2006, after 40 years of service. I loved my job with Founders and still miss seeing so many people that I learned to love. I was a Den Mother and Jack was a Scoutmaster, and I taught Junior High School Sunday School Class and later the nursery class, so our lives have been blessed by many children and young people over the years. I love my kitchen and love to bake. I do bake and cake sales when I am asked, but I feel the greatest joy I find is in just baking a cake or pie or cookies, just for the joy I receive by making someone happy, a lesson I learned from my Mother. We have taken three cruises since we retired: once to to Alaska, which was majestic; once to the Bahamas; and once to the Cayman Islands and other islands. We love the beach and usually spend a week in September every year, and go to Pigeon Forge, Tn two or three times a year. We love life and our families and friends.
