FLORENCE, SC ~ Mrs. Brenda Casey Watts, age 76, entered into rest Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at her home. She was born July 2, 1944 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Hazel Casey and Minnie Belle Robinson Casey and was the wife of the late Bernard Watts. Mrs. Watts was a preschool caregiver and enjoyed putting together scrapbooks for the mothers of her preschoolers and previously worked for many years at Bi-Lo alongside her husband, Bernie. She enjoyed cross stitching, putting together puzzles, watching game shows, playing games like cornhole and she was very competitive. Mrs. Watts loved spending time with her grandchildren and referred to them as the “loves of her life”. Her constant companion was her fur baby Roxie who she loved dearly. Mrs. Watts was a long-time member of New Life Freewill Baptist Church in Lancaster. She had an immense love for Jesus and longed to be home with Him.
Mrs. Watts is survived by her daughter, Pam Dauksch (Gary); two grandchildren, Rachael Dauksch, and Isabelle Dauksch; a brother, Mike Casey (Pat); two sisters, Sharon Horne, and Martha Weaver (Sanford); and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Watts was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie Watts; a daughter, Kelly Watts; her parents; three brothers, Richard Casey, Dewitt Casey, and Claude Casey; a brother-in-law, Sam Horne; and a sister-in-law, Lattie Mae Casey.
The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Watts will be 3:00 pm Sunday, September 13, 2020 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Doug Pate. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, Sunday at Burgess Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 4550 Montgomery Ave., Suite 1100 N, Bethesda, MD 20814.
