Brenda Joyce Denton Stallings

 1945 – 2005

Brenda Joyce Denton Stallings, 60, died Thursday, April 14, 2005.

Born in Lancaster County, she was the daughter of Sallie Hamilton Denton and the late Albert Denton. She was married to the late Billy Stallings.  She was a 1962 Lancaster High School graduate.  She was an employee of Springs Industries Grace Bleachery and a member of  Eastside Baptist Church.

Survivors include her mother of Lancaster; a son, Belk McCowan and his wife, Sharron; a daughter, Laura Baker and her husband, Mark;  three brothers, Gene Denton of Lancaster, James Denton of Monroe, and Alvin Denton of Mount Holly, N.C.; four sisters, Joanne Mungo, Vicky Faulkenberry, Margaret Whitt and Barbara Horton;  three grandchildren, Maranda Baker, Griffin Baker, and Anna McCowan, all of Lancaster.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Kay Walden.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Hartley Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Revs. Bill Parker and Bob Catoe, with burial in Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hartley Funeral Home.
