Dorothy McKinnon Findley

July 17, 1942  -  May 26, 2011

 

Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Graveside services for Dorothy McKinnon Findley, age 68, will be held  Thursday June 2, 2011, at 11:00 am at the Turkey Creek Cemetery in Lee County,  directed by Norton Funeral Home, Hartsville Chapel.  Rev. Sue Arledge will officiate.  Visitation will be Wednesday 5-7 pm at the Funeral Home. Dot went home to be with her Lord & Savior on May 26, 2011 at the home of  her daughter in Johns Creek, GA.  

She was born in Bethune, a daughter of the late Charles L. &  Amy Rogers DuRant McKinnon.   Dot will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother and a friend to all who knew her.  She worked faithfully with her late husband,  Dr. Bobby D. (Bob) Findley, Sr. at the Findley Chiropractic Center in Hartsville, S.C. for many years.  Dot & Bob's love for each other & their compassion for others were very evident to those  who came to the Chiropractic office.  After the death of her husband in 1996, Dot moved to Myrtle Beach to be close to her family and until her health declined, she continued her compassion for others by helping take care of family members.

Surviving are two daughters, Sandra (Mark) Schremmer, Johns Creek, GA,  Karen (Scott) Stillwell, Surf Side Beach, SC, one son, Dr. Bobby D. (Paula) Findley, Jr., Myrtle Beach, SC,  two sisters, Rebecca Davis, Myrtle Beach, SC,  Nancy (Max)  Bell, Ridgeway, SC,  Sister in law, Barbara Anne McKinnon, Lancaster,  SC,  8 Grandchildren,  Victoria Stillwell, Bobby Findley, III,  Adrian Stillwell,  Isabella Findley, Raleigh Findley, and Findley Stillwell, all of Myrtle Beach,  Whitney Schremmer, and Cameron Schremmer of Johns Creek, GA.

Dot was preceded in death by a brother, Lauchlin McKinnon.
