Mr. Marvin Alexander Baker, 74, of Lancaster passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at his home. He was born August 3, 1946 in Lancaster, a son of the late Rodgers Alec Baker, Sr. and Virginia Rollings Baker. Mr. Baker was of the A.R.P. faith. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. Mr. Baker enjoyed woodworking, working on engines, lawn mower repair and reading western books. He helped with the Shiloh-Zion Fire Department BBQ’s and was the fire chief for a number of years. Mr. Baker was also on the Lancaster County Fire Commission many years ago. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Baker will be held at a later date.
Mr. Baker is survived by his wife, Brenda Godfrey Baker of 52 years of Lancaster; two daughters, Mica B. Edwards and her husband Randy and Tabitha Baker Marshall and her husband Robert all of Lancaster; a sister, Ruby Hearne of Rocky Mt.. NC; and five grandchildren, Alexander Marshall, Pressley Edwards, Elise Edwards, Brice Edwards and Mia Edwards all of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by a brother, Rodgers Baker, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Shiloh-Zion Volunteer Fire Department, 703 Monroe Hwy., Lancaster, SC 29720 or to Shiloh A.R.P. Church, 346 Shiloh Unity Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
