Walter R. Taylor
1944 – 1992
Walter R. Taylor, 48, died Saturday, December 5, 1992.
Born in Lancaster County, Mr. Taylor was a son of Frank Jackson and Annie Rae Rollings Taylor. He was an electrical technician, owner and operator of Taylor Controls. He was a Shriner who served on the Hejaz Temple Executive Committee and was a member of the Jackson Shrine Club where he had served in all offices. He was a Mason, member of Hart Lodge 380, former member of the Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce and served on the Lancaster Planning and Zoning Committee. He was a member of the American Legion Post 31 and was a member of Camp Creek United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Betty Lewis Taylor; two daughters, Miss Elaine Taylor and Miss Laura Taylor, both of Lancaster, parents of Lancaster, four sisters, Mrs. Bill (Bonnie) Weathersbee of Blythewood, Mrs. Wayne (Frances) Anderson of Greer, Mrs. John (Mary) Rutledge and Mrs. Mike (Margie) Polston, both of Lancaster.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday from the Camp Creek United Methodist Church by the Rev. Karen Starr and the Rev. Ashley Brunson. Burial with Masonic rites will be in the Camp Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel.
